Creating more that one mailbox on your system:

If you have a sub-account or have more than one user using a single
computer, you may find that you wish to have more that one mailbox on that
computer to keep the e-mail separate. The following instructions will show
you how to do just that. First, you must select the operating system that
you are using because it is different for each system.
Macintosh
- Find the Hard Drive icon and double click on it to open it.
- Locate the system folder and double click on it to open it.
- Inside of the system folder, you will find a folder titled "Eudora
Folder". This folder contains the settings for the current mailbox.
We will call this the FIRST mailbox.
- Drag the Eudora Folder to the Desktop.
- Open the Eudora Folder on the desktop and find the file titled "Eudora
Settings". This is the icon that you would double click on to activate
Eudora for the FIRST mailbox. To make access easier, let's make
an alias of the program.
- Click on the Eudora Settings icon to highlight it and go to the File
menu, then down to Make alias.
- Locate the Apple Menu Items inside of the System Folder.
- Drag the aliased icon for the Eudora Settings to the Apple Menu Items
- Open the Apple Menu Items and locate the alias that you just placed
in there and rename it to Mailbox #1, or something significant to the first
mailbox's user ID.
- To access the FIRST mailbox, click on the alias that now resides
on the Apple Menu in the upper left.
- To create the SECOND Eudora Settings (or the SECOND Mailbox),
run the Eudora program.
- Go to the Special menu, down to Configuration.
- Fill out the pertinent information for the SECOND account/sub-account
including POP account, SMTP server, Return Address, etc.
- Click on the OK button.
- If you haven't already done so, create an alias to the Eudora program,
and put it on your Apple Menu Items, as outlined above. You may wish to
rename this alias to Mailbox #2 or something significant to the second
mailbox's user ID.
- To access the SECOND mailbox, click on that alias that now resides
on the Apple Menu in the upper left.
After this is completed, you will have two mailboxes.
Remember, if you go into Eudora by clicking
on the Eudora Program, you can only access the SECOND mailbox. If
you wish to access the FIRST mailbox, you must click on the alias
in the Apple Menu.
Windows (3.1, 3.11, 95)
- Go to the File Manager (or the Windows Explorer) and locate the Eudora
directory.
- Create a new directory under the C:\fciNET\ directory and call it
Eudora2 or something similar to that.
(first select the c:\fcinet directory).
(In Windows 95: File->New->Folder, Windows 3.1,3.11: File->Create
directory)
- Select all of the files (and folders) inside of the Eudora directory.
(In Windows 95: Edit-> Select All, Windows 3.1, 3.11: File->Select
Files->Select->Close)
- Copy the files into the new directory
(Windows 95: drag the files over to the new directory with the RIGHT
mouse button. When you drop the files, a menu will come up, select copy
files. Windows 3.1,3.11: drag the files to the new directory holding down
the LEFT mouse button and the CTRL button. This will copy the files
to the new directory.

the description of the icon to be more revealing then Eudora.. (i.e. 2nd
mailbox).
- Windows 95 users:
- With the Windows Explorer still open, drag the weudora.exe (or the
eudora executable) from the new directory to the desktop to create a shortcut
to the new Eudora mailbox.

to Eudora.
